Comprehensive US Visa and Nationality Law Advice

Flynn Hodkinson is a law firm based in central London providing specialist comprehensive US visa and nationality law advice and legal services.

Initially, we will either speak to or email with potential clients to determine if the issue is something in which we can assist prior to booking a formal consultation with one of our lawyers.

During the initial phone or email, we will wish to determine whether your issue is one relating to a US visa or nationality issue. Once we have established that there may be a basis for a case, a potential client may then book a formal consultation for which we charge a consultation fee.

Please note, scheduling a consultation with one of our lawyers is not a guarantee that you have a US visa case and once we have a full understanding of your situation we may need to advise that a client is unlikely to be successful based upon a full understanding of the circumstances and facts involved. There is value in knowing what your options are, having an understanding of US visa and nationality law and how it applies to your case.

Also, as our lawyers are regulated by our US state bars, we provide specific legal advice that can be relied after obtaining a clear understanding of the facts of a situation within the context of a consultation.

The Initial Consultation

The purpose of a consultation is to allow the lawyer to make a full assessment of the facts of the case, to provide accurate US visa advice and for the lawyer to give an educated opinion as to the likely outcome of the case based on the facts provided. The lawyer will discuss the possible legal strategies and arguments, procedures, timing expectations and costs involved with a case. Often, more than one visa category or solution may be available to a company or individual and it is their individual circumstances and goals that may determine the best way to proceed. We do initially chat with a potential client prior to booking a consultation to ascertain the basic facts of a person’s situation but some cases are very complex and require a meeting with a lawyer to determine whether a person will have a case for a US visa or nationality.

Having a consultation with a lawyer is not a guarantee that a person will be successful as the final decision of whether a visa is issued depends solely on the decision of a Consular Officer. In most cases, we can advise on the best strategy going forward but also the lawyer may, after obtaining a full understanding of the case, advise a client that it would be best if they did not proceed with their case as it would not likely that the client will be successful.

After the consultation, the client should be able to make an informed decision on whether to proceed with the case and engage our services to represent them. After the consultation, once we have a full understanding of the facts of the case and the client’s requirements, the client will be notified of what our total legal fee will be to assist with the matter.

Fees

Our initial consultation is chargeable. After the consultation, if additional work is required, the lawyer will give an indication of the expected work based on the complexity of the case, client’s requirements and timelines involved and quote a legal fee for that work. We usually set a fixed legal fee based on the complexity and amount of work required but in some cases we may charge on an hourly basis.

Please contact us for more information or schedule a call.

Our fees are exclusive of VAT, outside costs, and US government fees.

Please note that our lawyers cannot guarantee the success of any case and can only give an indication of the likelihood of success based on our experience as the final decision on whether a US visa is issued is solely within the US government agency’s discretion.
